Occupancy for September is highly likely to drop further from the August 1 forecast, driven by adverse weather conditions such as prolonged autumn rains and typhoons occurring during the consecutive holidays (Silver Week,a series of Japanese national holidays from Sept 19–23).
For October and November, estimates derived from daily booking rates provided by a subset of surveyed hotels indicate that high occupancy levels of around 90% are expected to persist from Friday, October 2 through Saturday, November 28. In particular, forecasts point to near-100% occupancy on Saturday, October 10—the first day of a three-day weekend—and Wednesday, October 21, the eve of The Jidai Matsuri Festival .
